Awareness Programme on the Use of Clay Ganesha Idols
LB Nagar: As part of promoting environmental protection and reducing pollution, an awareness programme on the use of Clay Ganesha Idols was conducted at the Zilla Parishad High School, LB Nagar, under the aegis of Vidhatha Society. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Vidhatha Society President, Smt. G. Srilatha Garu.
On the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, students were sensitized about the importance of choosing eco-friendly Clay Ganesha Idols instead of Plaster of Paris idols, which can contribute to environmental and water pollution during immersion.
The organisers explained that the use of naturally made clay idols can help reduce pollution and protect water bodies while also preserving our traditional values and cultural practices. Students were encouraged to spread awareness among their family members, relatives and friends and motivate them to celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi in an environmentally responsible manner.
Smt. G. Srilatha Garu, President of Vidhatha Society, emphasized that environmental protection is not the responsibility of one individual alone, but a collective responsibility of society. She called upon everyone to come forward and contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
The programme was attended by Shiva, Sudheer, Mahender and Jyothikumar, who actively participated in creating awareness among the students about the importance of Clay Ganesha Idols and environmental protection.
